Los Angeles, (EFE) .- A traditional Hispanic market in Las Vegas (Nevada), with around 1,100 stalls, temporarily closed its doors due to migratory raids ordered by President Donald Trump, who already affected a business in California of the own owners.

The Marketplace Broadacres market, which hosts around 20,000 visitors in a weekend, said on its website that due to migratory raids of the Immigration and Customs Control Service (ICE, in English) they closed their doors temporarily.

There is no established reopening date and this weekend holiday for Independence Day, which is one of the busiest, will not be open to the public.

Marketplace Broads made the decision “for caution and concern for our community,” he said in a statement.

The closure of the North Las Vegas market took place after a migratory raid in a business in Los Angeles County, owned by Newport Diversified Inc., the same parent company that operates Marketplace Broad.

Migratory agents made a raid on June 15 in a busy market in the city of Santa Fe Springs, located in the east of Los Angeles County, where several people were arrested.

Newport Diversified explained at the time that he had not received prior notice from the operation or coordinated with federal authorities on these actions in the Angelino market with about 500 stalls.

Broadacres sellers received a notice two weeks ago on the closure and many clients have expressed their surprise, according to complaints on social networks.

Migratory raids have also forced the cancellation of several celebrations for Independence Day in Los Angeles. EFE
