The Ministry of Economy reported that the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade, Luis Rosendo Gutiérrez, attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, in Switzerland, where he attended to senior managers of transnational companies interested in the perspectives on Mexico and assured that “he found positive responses.” towards the nation.
According to information from the agency, the undersecretary attended the World Economic Forum on behalf of the head of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, who canceled his participation to attend to the work of the federal government due to the change of government in the United States.
The Ministry of Economy indicated that in the meetings in which the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade was present, all the facilities that Mexico offers to investors were discussed.
On instructions from the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, Undersecretary Luis Rosendo Gutiérrez held meetings with companies to promote the objectives of Plan Mexico to make the country a leader in the production of medicines and vaccines, reduce imports from Asia, increase national content and generate greater added value that translates into higher salaries and job creation.
In total, the undersecretary had 21 meetings during the two days of his participation in the World Economic Forum.
Among the companies he spoke with were: AstraZeneca, Sempra, Honeywell International, The Coca-Cola Company, Unilever, Sanofi, PayPal, Uber, Ericsson, Visa, Mastercard, Shein, Nu Holdings, Novartis, Cisco and Coinbase.
