Klar and Masari Casa de Bolsa announced this Tuesday, separately, that they began their process to obtain a banking license.
In the case of Sofipo Klar, the company said that this strategic move will allow it to expand its product portfolio, offering “more robust, secure and accessible” solutions.
“This license request is aligned with Klar’s projected future growth,” the institution highlighted in a press release.
Obtaining a banking license has the potential to open the door for Klar to offer more diversified products that reinforce financial inclusion, Sofipo highlighted.
He indicated that, if achieved, it could guarantee greater security for client deposits, aligning with the highest standards of the banking industry, and allow the development of solutions designed to respond efficiently and accessible to the needs of the Mexican market.
Likewise, this advance could boost in the future the work that Klar plans to do with SMEs after the acquisition of Tribal, facilitating the offer of services such as payroll management, expense optimization and access to financing, strengthening its role as a strategic ally of this economic segment.
He also highlighted that the increase in regulated actors strengthens the Mexican financial ecosystem, generating a more competitive and reliable environment for users.
He added that in just five years of operation, the company exceeded 20,000 million pesos in credit disbursements.
Meanwhile, Masari Casa de Bolsa announced that it formally notified the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) of its application to obtain a Type 1 banking license.
“This type of license requires a capital investment of at least 90 million UDIs and will allow the institution to operate all the products contemplated in the Credit Institutions Law,” the brokerage house reported.
