With an investment of 30 million pesos (mp), Multimodal Altamira, a Mexican logistics and cargo transportation services company, doubled the operational capacity of the Meat Inspection Point, going from six to 12 doors.

This will allow it to increase its inspection of products of animal and aquaculture origin, refrigerated and frozen, by 2025, going from 100,000 tons to 200,000.

In interview with Forbes MexicoEnrique de Hita Sánchez, President of the Board of Directors of Grupo Multimodal Altamira, explained that the above will reduce logistics times and costs for the more than 300 clients.

The projections, according to De Hita, are that the demand for products arriving, especially from China, at the Port of Altamira is increasing.

However, this will not be the only investment they will make, since towards 2025 De Hita assured that one of the next projects they are bringing will be the expansion of their audited facility, which is currently eight hectares, a facility that is inside the port.

“We hope to be able to start operations in the middle of next year. This expansion represents around 70 million pesos,” he said.

For her part, Anabel Flores Garza, Undersecretary of Investment in the Ministry of Economy of the State Government of Tamaulipas, reported that 127 private investment projects have already been confirmed in the state, including new ones and expansions, and 26% are in the southern zone. which gives a total sum of 5.3 billion dollars and the creation of more than 5,000 jobs, which is expected to occur in the next three or four years.

“(We are working) to make them realize all the competitive advantages that Tamaulipas has and that this is a great place to invest, to grow and to do business. We strongly encourage that these companies that are arriving are companies that are committed to society, to the well-being of the people, that they are jobs that are created,” he explains to Forbes Flores.
