The private initiative warned that violence worries companies with operations in Mexico, as well as the crime registered against two government officials of Mexico City is bad news and does not pay to improve the environment in the eyes of the United States.

This morning, Ximena Guzmán, private secretary of the head of government, Clara Brugada, and her advisor, José Muñoz, were shot dead in Calzada de Tlalpan.

The issue of insecurity is an issue that occupies us and worries all citizens and companies, said Carlos García, president of the American Chamber Mexico (Amcham).

The businessman commented that all government efforts to counteract and avoid insecurity are important.

“Insecurity is an issue seen by companies, when they are going to invest or increase their presence in the Mexican territory, it is an issue that they always evaluate,” he said.

For his part, Sergio Contreras Pérez, executive president of the Mexican Business Council of Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE), said that violence and insecurity in Mexico “unfortunately puts a very large media noise, but those things are also seen in other countries.”

The murder of two government officials of Mexico City will not cause an affectation in the intention of investors to reach the country, the business representative considered.

“It affects us a lot internally (this type of crimes), because we continue with the issue of insecurity and do not feel so safe,” he said.

Víctor Manuel Herrera Espinosa, president of the National Committee of Economic Studies of the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives (IMEF), said that the execution of high -ranking workers in Mexico City is an unfortunate event, “like everyone we have had in our country for some time.”

He said that given these events that occurred in Mexico City, it is somehow understood what is the reaction of the United States authorities when trying to put limits to what is happening in Mexico and pressing and appointing posters as criminal organizations.

“It does not help anything that this environment (of violence) has in Mexico and it is unfortunate that this happened today,” he emphasized.

There are 30 thousand dead a year for the violence of the posters, including police, soldiers, sailors and public officials, the economist recalled.

The execution is another bad news that has already been accumulated in Mexico, concluded Herrera Espinosa.
