One of the most viral Netflix original crime thriller series in recent memory deserves more episodes after its massive global streaming success. Even a month after its premiere, this star-studded 6-part series is still a top-trending worldwide hit.
While Rotten Tomatoes scores and Emmy wins are always vital to a show’s longevity, viewership reigns supreme at Netflix, and this series certainly has the numbers to warrant a second season. Although it was released as a limited series, Netflix has to put together a follow-up to one of its biggest 2026 streaming hits.
His & Hers Deserves More Episodes After Its Viral Streaming Success
His & Hers, starring Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal, deserves a second season after its long-running streaming success. Released on January 8, 2026, this viral 6-part Netflix crime thriller continues to hold a Top 10 trending viewership spot on Netflix’s worldwide charts. In fact, it’s currently ranked #4 after maintaining the #1 worldwide title for weeks.
The continued streaming success of His & Hers also extends to the United States, where the series is also the #4 most-watched TV Show despite the recent influx of new short-form Netflix series easy to binge-watch in just one night or over one weekend. These new Netflix additions include Salvador, Cash Queens, and Unfamiliar. The latter of which just surpassed His & Hers on Netflix’s worldwide chart and currently ranks #3 under Bridgerton and The Lincoln Lawyer, both of which recently released their highly-anticipated fourth seasons.
You could say His & Hers ignited the trend of Netflix’s binge-worthy new 2026 thriller series that have dominated the streamer’s viewership chart over the past five weeks, picking up where The Beast in Me, another thriller with an A-list leading duo, left off in 2025. Netflix can certainly keep churning out this brand of short-term thriller content, but His & Hers is good enough that it deserves a proper extension.
Netflix Has Not Confirmed His & Hers Season 2 – But It’s Possible
At the time of writing, Netflix has not announced any official plans to produce a second season of His & Hers, which ended on a pretty conclusive note after a major twist. That said, the relentless performance of His & Hers may inspire Netflix to dig a little deeper with this particular 6-part thriller series, as the viewership numbers continue to pile in from around the world.
In the modern streaming age, a show or franchise can never be considered truly over, as there have been many successful reboots, sequels, prequels, and spinoffs that have captivated audiences on Netflix and all major streaming platforms. If His & Hers continues to dominate global streaming charts through February 2026, Netflix may have to do what Disney did with Shōgun and what Amazon did with Mr. & Mrs. Smith and turn this miniseries into a multi-season project.
