Steam’s Next Fest event continues, and with thousands of brand-new demos to get stuck into, it is no wonder that many of us are finding that there are not enough hours in the day. Just this week alone has been the launch of Resident Evil Requiem, Marathon‘s Server Slam, and World of Warcraft: Midnight, but that does not mean that some of these upcoming indie titles should not be receiving the love, and finding a place on your Steam wishlist.
This New RPG Has Serious Classic Zelda Vibes
Developed by Revelforge Game Studios, The Kingdoms of Ædloran is an upcoming 2D top-down pixel RPG where you will explore a living open-world, encounter strange and fantastic creatures, delve into punishing dungeons, level up and upgrade, and become a true hero of the kingdom. Set to launch later this year, The Kingdoms of Ædloran has seemingly taken inspiration from some of the early The Legend of Zelda titles, as well as the exploration you will only find in releases such as The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.
The Kelestaren Empire is no more. Over a century has passed since its collapse, and as it fades from living memory, new powers begin to emerge from its ashes.
As you begin your journey in the region of Valynd, you will soon set off on an adventure across a magical and vibrant world filled with stories of bravery, villainy, and conquest. Treck across boundless deserts and visit the Sea of Kelar, or push your way through primeval forests, all the way to the top of the snow-peaked mountains. This is truly a hero’s adventure, and thanks to The Kingdoms of Ædloran stunning pixel-art style, the views will be glorious.
Steam Next Fest Is Live Now
This upcoming fantasy adventure is just one of thousands of brand-new games to currently be showcased on Steam as part of its Next Fest celebrations. If you are anything like me, then you will have a love-hate relationship with demos. I want to support the games and get a taste for them, but there is nothing worse than getting stuck into a game only to be hit with the “Thanks for Playing!” screen after just a short amount of time. However, the pros do outweigh the cons and with so many incredible demos to get stuck into, you may just discover your next favorite game. Maybe, just maybe, that favorite game will be The Kingdoms of Ædloran which is available to download and try out for free right now, ahead of its full launch later in 2026.
