A new look at Supergirl has been unveiled from DC Studios. After her introduction to the DC Universe audience in 2025’s Superman, Kara Zor-El will be the next Kryptonian to headline her own film, with Milly Alcock’s upcoming solo project this summer.
At this year’s Puppy Bowl event, DC Studios brought a new look at Supergirl, as the film is only a few months away from opening in theaters. Check out the new trailer below:
The new footage gives another look at the destruction of Krypton, but also the early days of Krypto as a puppy. This comes less than three months after the first Supergirl trailer was released.
This isn’t the first time DC Studios has used a DCU film at the Puppy Bowl, as the Superman movie got highlighted at the event last year with Gunn and his dog, Ozu. It has yet to be revealed when the next full trailer for the film will be released.
The Supergirl movie was directed by Craig Gillespie, while Ana Nogueira penned the screenplay, based on Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic. The film also stars Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll and Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow.
The DCU installment will also see the return of Jason Momoa in the DC world, but this time as Lobo, after having played Aquaman in the DCEU movie timeline. David Corenswet is also reprising the role of Superman for an appearance in the film.
Supergirl is one of the two major DCU films being released in 2026, as the upcoming R-rated Batman horror film, Clayface, will be arriving this fall. However, the movie was recently moved from September 11 to October 23 for its release date. The Lanterns TV show will also debut on HBO shortly after Supergirl.
DC Studios’ Supergirl opens on June 26.
