The NFL announced the suspension of six games without pay for the 2025 season of the Mexican Isaac Alarcón, player of the San Francisco 49ers, for violating the substance policy to improve the performance of the league.
Despite the punishment, the player is eligible to participate in all pre -season training and matches with San Francisco.
In January the 49ers signed Alarcón, for the second consecutive year, with a reserve/future contract to try to open a place in the team for the season that will start next September.
The reserve/future contract is used by the NFL teams to ensure the rights of the player, which allows the element to participate in the activities scheduled in the low season and in the preseason to try to take a place in the squad of 53 players who will compete in the following campaign.

The 26 -year -old offensive liner arrived at the League in 2020 thanks to the ‘International Player Pathway’, a program that the NFL implements since 2017 to search for talents around the world with the possibility of being part of one of the 32 League teams.
In that 2020 campaign, the one born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, was taken by the Dallas Cowboys, a team in which he remained in the practices squad until 2023.
During his stay in the solitary star team the then coach Mike McCarthy praised his performance on a couple of occasions, despite which he did not debut.
Last year Alarcón left Dallas to sign with the 49ers, a team in which he was a companion of his compatriot Alfredo Gutiérrez, offensive Tackle who also emerged from the ‘International Player Pathway’ and was in San Francisco from 2021 until last year.

With this announcement the inclusion of Isaac Alarcón on the squad of 53 Gambusinos players for the 2025 season is complicated.
