A total of 336 police officers were murdered during 2025 in Mexico, on average one every day, and an increase of 8% compared to those registered in the same period of 2024, warned the civil organization Causa en Común.

The record of ‘Police Killed 2025’ details that between December 12 and 18 alone, four homicides of police officers were documented in the states of Puebla, Sinaloa, Tabasco and the State of Mexico.

“So far in 2025, at least 336 police officers have been murdered, on average one every day, and 8% more than those registered in the same period of 2024,” the NGO said in a statement.

He also recalled that from October 1, 2024 to December 18, 2025, the organization recorded the murder of at least 430 police officers.

The states with the most cases of murdered police officers in 2025 are Sinaloa, with 46; Guerrero, with 37; Guanajuato, with 36; Michoacán, with 33, and Veracruz, with 24.

According to the latest figures presented by the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), Guanajuato, Sinaloa, the State of Mexico, Guerrero and Michoacán are five of the seven entities that account for 51% of homicides in the country.

Likewise, the NGO pointed out that in the period from October 1, 2024, when Claudia Sheinbaum assumed the presidency of Mexico, to December 18, 2025, at least 430 police officers have been murdered.

During the Government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador in Mexico (2018-2024), Causa en Común documented the murder of at least 2,456 police officers, an average of more than one per week.
