The Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny faces a lawsuit for allegedly using a sample (“Sample”) without a license from a Nigerian artist in the successful album ‘A summer without you’ (2022), Billboard reported this Friday.

The document explains that the lawyers of the Nigerian artist raised the situation to the representatives of Bad Bunny, but that these “turned a blind eye” and left him “more option to file this demand,” according to Billboard.

“It is not frequent that a music artist of the caliber and the sophistication of Bad Bunny use the music of another person without permission and then ignore the efforts of this to solve the problem,” collects the text, in the words of Dera’s lawyer, Robert A. Jacobs.
‘A summer without you’ is the fourth studio album of the Puerto Rican artist. Released in May 2022, it remained 13 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 and more than 150 weeks in total in the most listened to list of albums.
