Authorities reported the arrest of nine people and the disabling of three clandestine camps allegedly used by organized crime in Michoacán.
The action was led by agents from the Ministry of Defense and the National Guard, together with the Navy, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the local government, the authorities said in a joint statement.
As a result, agents arrested nine people and disabled three clandestine camps in the state.
In addition, they seized eight firearms, 491 cartridges, 43 magazines, an improvised explosive device and seven vehicles, they indicated.

The operation is part of the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice, announced by President Claudia Sheinbaum, after the murder of the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, on November 1, a crime that unleashed a wave of indignation over violence in the country.
The authorities added that “reconnaissance on foot has been carried out to provide security and confidence to the workers and owners of the avocado establishments and citrus industries.”
The above, in the municipalities of Aguililla, Apatzingán, Cotija, La Piedad, Morelia, Nuevo San Juan, San Lorenzo, Queréndaro, Salvador Escalante, Tiamba, Uruapan, Zamora and Zacapu.
Likewise, they reported that from November 10, 2025 to January 19, 426 people have been arrested and 85 kilos of marijuana, 773 kilos of methamphetamine, 28,800 liters and 15,300 kilos of chemicals for the production of synthetic drugs have been confiscated, 26 camps and 50 clandestine intakes disabled.
In addition to this, in the same period, 238 firearms, 16,716 cartridges, 835 magazines, 346 vehicles, 200 explosive devices and 53 kilos of explosive material have been seized.
The objective of Plan Michoacán is to reduce the high rates of violence, crime and insecurity in that state in the western country.
According to criminal maps prepared by the Army, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), at least 12 criminal organizations operate in Michoacán.
These criminal groups call themselves the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), the Tepalcatepec Cartel, Los Blancos de Troya, Los Viagras, Los Reyes Cartel, Los Caballeros Templarios, Acahuato Cartel, La Costa Cartel, La Familia Michoacana, Zicuirán Cartel, Pueblos Unidos and Los Correa Cartel.
