Nvidia said he is planning to build artificial intelligence servers for a value of up to 500 billion dollars in the US over the next four years with the help of partners such as TSMC, the last US technology company in supporting the impulse of the Trump administration to local manufacturing.

The announcement includes the production of its Blackwell AI chips at the TSMC facilities in Phoenix, Arizona and the supercomputer manufacturing plants in Texas de Foxconn and Wistron that are expected to increase their production in 12 to 15 months.

The measure aligns the artificial intelligence chips giant, most whose processors are manufactured in Taiwan, with a group of technology companies that have committed to bring the manufacture of return to the United States in the midst of threats of strong tariffs by President Donald Trump.

“It is unlikely that Nvidia had transferred its production to the United States if it were not for the pressure of the Trump administration,” said Da Davidson’s analyst Gil Luria.

“The half -billion figure is probably a hyperbole, in the same way that Apple made a promise of half a billion.”

Apple, which assembles most of its iPhones in China, promised half a billion dollars in US investments in the next four years, including a Texas factory for artificial intelligence servers.

Nvidia’s announcement occurs just hours after the United States exempts electronic products such as smartphones and chips from their reciprocal tariffs to China, but said it would announce the tariff rate on the imported chips during the next week.

The exemptions indicate a growing awareness within the Trump administration of pain that tariffs could inflict consumers tired of inflation, as well as the flourishing artificial intelligence industry that depends on tools related to Chips of China and Taiwan.

“Incorporating American manufacturing helps us better satisfy the incredible and growing demand for artificial intelligence and supercomputer chips, strengthens our supply chain and increases our resilience,” Nvidia executive director Jensen Huang said on Monday.

The manufacture of artificial intelligence and supercomputer chips in the United States will create hundreds of thousands of jobs in the coming decades, said Nvidia.

“They did it for the elections of November 5 and for that reason of the tariffs,” Trump said about Nvidia’s announcement during an informative session in the White House.

In March, Huang had said that Nvidia sees little impact in the short term by the highest tariffs in the United States, but that it would transfer production to that country in the long term, without giving a schedule.

The company said on Monday that TSMC has begun the production of its latest generation of chips in its Arizona factory.
