Miami, (EFE) .- At least three people, including a police officer, were injured on Monday in a shooting in the Manhattan neighborhood of New York, New York police reported to the New York Times, which added that the shooter died.
“At this time, the scene has been contained and the lonely shooter is dead.” The Social City Department of New York said on the social network X, without revealing the causes of death.
The Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, confirmed the presence of injured, but did not reveal his condition.
“There have been people who have been shot and wounded, and I will go to the hospital soon,” said Adams, who also confirmed the death of the shooter.
According to police officers cited by the New York environment, they reported at least three people were injured in the shooting. Among them is a police officer.
The attack took place around 18:00 local time in the vicinity of the Blackstone investment giant offices, which was immediately evicted.
“I heard shots, strong noises. It seemed that they could be of our material, but they were broken crystals. When I climbed, I saw the broken crystals. A couple of security guards behind the desks said: ‘Watch yourself, active shooter, run’ and that was all,” he told Efe Adrien, one of the building workers.
“I didn’t see the shooting,” he added.
The mayor of the city, Eric Adams, and the Police Department issued alerts in X so that the New Yorkers avoid approaching the place where the attack had occurred.
The deputy director of the FBI, Dan Bongino, said that “the administrative staff and the agents of the FBI field office in New York are responding to provide support in the scene of active crime in Manhattan.”
Images spread on social networks reveal dozens of police and ambulances on the outskirts of the building, while the mermaids resonate at full volume, and several police armed with long weapons leave vehicles in the direction of the offices.
