The Legend of Zelda series is decades old at this point, and there are a lot of games under its belt. It’s easy for fans to forget any given spinoff entry, especially games like Link’s Crossbow Training.
For instance, a lot of folks haven’t played the Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages duo yet, and are missing out. Based on this Reddit fan art, it’s clear people are ready for a remake.

We’re Into It
Released in 2001 on the Game Boy Color, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages are classic entries in the series. With a similar framework to Link to the Past, players control Link from an overhead angle in completely different ways depending on the game.
In Seasons, you can alter the weather to literally change the seasons and explore new paths. In Ages, you manipulate time similar to Ocarina of Time. Fascinatingly, when combined (via a password system for verification), you could continue the story of one game into the next, and even discover a secret boss fight.
It’s for all these reasons and more that fans are clamoring for a remake, especially in light of this seriously impressive art by artist Yhani-boi. It showcases all four seasons in the game, and how each would look with a revamped art style. If you don’t like the scan lines, the artist also crafted a clean pixel version that you can see on Reddit.
Will Nintendo Ever Remake The Oracle Zelda Games?
It’s Complicated
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages have a complicated history. They were technically developed by the studio Flagship, who were funded by several publishers, and were eventually absorbed into Capcom. Although Nintendo has had no issues re-releasing the original games (including on the Nintendo Classics Switch service a few years ago), they likely aren’t a priority for the company when it comes to which games to remaster.
That said, it’s near the middle of the pack in terms of best-selling Zelda titles, so it could happen at some point. It would be considerably less intense to develop compared to a 3D Zelda, and the title “Oracle of Ages & Seasons” is right there, as the new team could incorporate both titles into one remake.
As one user on the thread points out, it’s unlikely: “I want Nintendo to do a full remaster as much as the next guy, but at this point i don’t think it’ll happen. Not for another 6 years if at all.”
If you’re a Legend of Zelda fan and haven’t played Oracle of Seasons and Ages yet, you should think about changing that. Thankfully, they’re still preserved on modern hardware.
