Oxxo will give coffee again to those who come to vote during the judicial day of June 1, in accordance with a collaboration agreement between the chain and the INE to promote citizen participation.

According to Alejandro Arellano Torres, Regional Manager of OXXO in Mexico City, the dynamics will be similar to that implemented in previous processes: citizens who show their entry or voucher thumb can receive a free medium coffee in participating stores.

The INE counselor and president of the Temporary Commission of the Judicial Power of the Federation, Jorge Montaño Ventura, said that these types of alliances are key to building a new citizenship and increasing electoral participation.

“This task not only depends on government institutions or autonomous organs, but on all and all Mexicans. It is a joint effort that requires the active participation of each and each of us,” he said according to an INE statement.

The election day of June 1 contemplates the election of 881 positions of the Judiciary at the federal level and 1,800 in 19 federative entities.
