The Panama Prosecutor’s Office reported Thursday that it investigates the disappearance of Mexican citizen César Gustavo Estrada Zúñiga, who worked as a chef in a hotel chain in a tourist and coastal area of ​​the Central American country.

“The Primary Care Section of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Coclé advances investigations for the crime against life and personal integrity (missing person), to the detriment of César Gustavo Estrada Zúñiga, of Mexican nationality, 41 years old,” says official information.

The Prosecutor’s Office welcomed the case “informally, after receiving a note from the Superior Prosecutor’s Office of International Affairs to open the investigation for the disappearance of César Estrada.”

So far, it is known that, “according to the mother of the missing person, a niece of his, resident in Mexico, said the last communication with César approximately two weeks ago; since then they have not had news of him.”

The missing Mexican, “who had been in the country for several years, worked as a chef in a renowned resort chain located in the province of Coclé,” a coastal area of ​​the Pacific, west of the capital, where there are several international hotel chains on the beach.

The Panamanian Prosecutor’s Office asks the citizens to communicate if they have any information about the whereabouts of the Mexican missing under the premise that it will be “treated with strict confidentiality.”
