Paramount+ Delivers A Disappointing Blow To The Most Popular TV Show Of The Last 5 Years

In a quiet update, Paramount+ drops a disappointing blow to fans of the most popular TV show of the last five years. Aside from its original content, the streaming platform is also the go-to destination for countless licensed shows. While network TV thrives on its own by maintaining the traditional broadcast cycle and offering significantly more output than other small screen formats, making it accessible through streamers helps it reach more people.

Paramount+ is the home of CBS content, with all of its 2025-2026 TV programming available to be streamed hours after its original airing on free TV. This gives people the chance to catch up on their favorite comedies and procedurals at their own time. Aside from that, the platform also houses an extensive catalog for some of CBS’s longest-running shows, allowing anyone who wants to either start or revisit them. Unfortunately, for those who want to do that with NCIS, Paramount+’s new update will be disappointing.

Paramount+ No Longer Has All Seasons Of NCIS (Season 10 Is Missing)

As the most popular show of the last five years, NCIS remains an integral part of CBS’s portfolio. Amid all the changes, including Mark Harmon’s exit in 2021, the show is still a consistent ratings performer for the network, not to mention a staple on streaming’s top list. Paramount+ housed the complete run of the series, including next-day episodes for its current cycle, but that recently changed with a quiet change, as season 10 is suddenly no longer available to stream. It’s unclear what prompted this change. The update happened very quietly, with no advanced advisory from Paramount+ or CBS. Personally, I was in the middle of a rewatch when I noticed that NCIS season 10 is no longer an option to check out. Because of the lack of information about the specific set of episodes from the streamer’s portfolio, it’s uncertain when it will come back — or if it will return at all.

Why NCIS Season 10 Is Particularly Important To Its Run

While NCIS continues to be relevant, releasing solid episodes for CBS after more than two decades on the air, there’s something very special about its first decade. Ducky’s death confirmed Gibbs’ best team, which, unsurprisingly, was when he had Tony Dinozzo Jr, Timothy McGee, and Ziva David as his agents. NCIS season 10 was the pinnacle of that run, for a couple of reasons.

For starters, it was the last season with that mix of characters, as NCIS season 11 marked the departure of Cote de Pablo from the procedural. Aside from that, the landmark 10th year featured some of the most compelling storylines in the show. Across its 24 episodes — a production count almost unheard of now, it tackled a mix of great cases and personal storylines. This included, the end of Harper Dearing wreaking havoc, Ducky and Palmer getting kidnapped, and the quintissential episode, “Shabbat Shalom,” which saw the murder of Eli David and Jackie Vance.

Regardless if one is watching it for the first time or doing an extensive rewatch, not having access to NCIS season 10 means missing some of the procedural’s best storytelling in over 20 years. Hopefully, Paramount+ removing it from their portfolio is only temporary.
