The explosion of an LP gas pipe in the East of the Valley of Mexico left 57 people injured, of which 19 are serious, said the head of government of the CDMX, Clara Brugada.

From the place of the events, the local president added that 18 vehicles were affected by the events recorded this afternoon in the vicinity of the Concorda bridge, and that a first hypothesis is that the unit turned, but the capital prosecution investigates what happened.

Minutes before, the Secretary of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection of the CDMX, Myriam Urzúa Venegas, had reported that the pipe with 49,500 liters had left 18 people injured.

The secretary requested that the free passage to emergency vehicles occur and not approach the area, as it was closed to vehicular traffic.

The circulation was kept in both directions of the Mexico-Vuebla highway between Axis 6 South and Puente de la Concordia, so the Pantitlán and Texcoco avenues were recommended as a road alternative.

The head of the Ministry of Mobility, Héctor Ulises García, ordered the suspension of the service in the trolebús, cablebús and subway at Santa Marta station, while confirmed that the situation was under control.
