In the fintech ecosystem, some companies meet the needs of clients and others provide their services to other businesses, such as Plankton Development, which emerges as a software house that provides advanced technological solutions with the aim of democratizing access to financial services. global.
To learn about the operation of this 100% Mexican venture, Forbes spoke exclusively with Carmen Ruvalcaba, project director of Plankton Development, who gave an overview of the beginnings of fintech: “We began operations with the creation of Plankton Wallet, which is a digital asset wallet and then we saw the great opportunity to continue growing as a software developer and service integrator.”
Along the same lines, Ruvalcaba details that after the creation of Plankton Wallet, they saw the benefit of offering that tool as a ‘white label’ so that their clients could have their own, and that became their ‘spearhead’ for continue to establish itself as a developer and services company for companies.
He also adds that “we offer clients the integration of a variety of services, both KYC (Know Your Customer) and digital asset management. Through strategic alliances, we are the container of the client’s or resource’s information, where these alliances allow us to provide the technological solution.”
The interviewee deepens the concept saying that, “we provide business intelligence, where through customer data analysis we can help you predict the behaviors of any of your products. That part of analysis is also a product that we offer to companies.”
Among these services, he defines “marketing, making projections, getting costs out of your products, seeing if the balance is right in terms of the path they are currently taking according to their data, and this can give us the possibility of giving them some prediction. This part of business intelligence is a service that many companies do not exploit, because it is known that through their data they can make better decisions to project.”
Regarding the Plankton portfolio, he said that “another of our services is supporting clients in the implementation of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software or management systems, both for the attention of support or sales tickets, if what They seek to exploit that part. Customer service is very important to us, since we have an ideology of trying to treat the user as if they were from our own home. This package is complemented by training for internal staff.”
After starting operations in 2022 and about to complete one year with its software development services, Ruvalcaba says that “since December of last year we saw a better panorama of the product we had, (such as the potential of its white label wallet).” Likewise, remember that during the implementation with a client and “thanks to certain strategies and the subsequent merger with them, we reached that agreement where (they glimpsed) everything that was invested in time and resources.”
Finally, regarding the operation of Plankton Development, which envisions the expansion of its services throughout Latin America, Europe and Asia, in addition to participation as sponsors of Fintech Mexico 2025, Ruvalcaba describes the availability of offices in Mexico City and Tijuana, in where a total of 18 collaborators work, including “highest quality” software developers, project managers, marketing executives and the corresponding tax and accounting consultancy.
