Rumors circulating around Gen 10 of Pokémon have continued in earnest over recent months, with the latest leak hinting at another possible evolution for Eevee. However, it seems as though fans of the long-running monster-catching franchise have been left feeling divided over the potential development, leading to some major discussions online.
At the time of writing, the first title in Pokémon’s Gen 10 has not been officially announced, but with Pokémon Day going live on 27 February, it might not be long until we find out.
Is Eevee Getting A New Evolution Finally?
As it stands, Eevee has received eight evolutions over the course of Pokémon history: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon, but could this recent leak mean another is on the way?
According to Pokémon content creator Light over on Twitter, the most recent Gen 10 leak showcases brand-new information. This includes Gaia’s potential Grass starter, which takes the form of a goat, the confirmation that some parts of the game will be voice-acted, and much like Pokémon Sun and Moon, you will be able to choose your character whilst making your in-game passport. Most importantly, however, is the news that a new Poison-type Eevee may be announced alongside the new Poison Terrain. This evolution is apparently “workshopped”.
Of course, this leak is worth taking with a pinch of salt, as none of this has been officially announced, but with Eevee’s last evolution taking place in 2013 with Pokémon X and Y, it is safe to say that they are long overdue.
Gamers Aren’t Convinced By The Latest Pokémon Gen 10 Leak
As with any leak, whether it is true remains to be seen, but what we do know is that it will cause a whole lot of discourse. Eevee’s potential evolution is no exception and Pokémon fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the upcoming Gen 10, with many not feeling convinced.
“You can already tell this is fake because they would never add voice acting to this,” one user shared, pointing out the latest Pokémon title’s aversion to hiring voice actors despite definitely having the means to. If this leak is true, however, it will definitely be a selling point for fans who have been let down in recent years.
“It’s definitely fake! It doesn’t even look like a Pokémon,” another user said in regard to the potential Gaia Grass starter. On top of that, others believe it may be AI, but that has also not been confirmed. With one user adding, “New Eevee? Voice acting? Uh huh. Sure. I’ll believe it when I see it”, It is safe to say that this leak is not convincing fans, but with no official information as yet, it is no surprise that people are relying on the latest leak.
Luckily, with Pokémon Day just around the corner, we do not have long to find out if the beloved Eevee will be getting a Poison-type and if voice actors will finally be brought onboard.
