Pokémon Legends Z-A Update Just Made A Huge Fix

Pokémon Legends Z-A has added enough content since launch, including the paid Mega Dimension DLC, that it’s sometimes easy to forget the game is only a few months old. Between free Mystery Gifts and other small but regular additions, the game is always evolving (pun intended). Now, the latest free update for Legends: Z-A has arrived, and it fixes one majorly annoying problem.

Called Version 2.0.1, the update went live on January 21, 2026. It fixed a few bugs and also made some much-needed adjustments for obtaining certain items like Berries. The full update details, which were revealed over on the official Nintendo website, can also be found below.

This Pokémon Legends Z-A Update Is A Welcome One

The most eye-grabbing change here in Version 2.0.1 is that you can now purchase Berries from a food stall. Previously, if you wanted more Berries, you’d need to farm various wormholes in Hyperspace Lumiose. This wasn’t necessarily hard, but it was annoying and repetitive. And it also got pretty boring.

Now, you can buy Berries from the clerk at Nouveau Café’s Truck No. 3, right from the start of the Mega Dimension DLC. Bonus: You can also buy multiple Berries at once. These alterations may not be game-changing, but it is the kind of quality-of-life improvement that I’d expect from updates like this one. Hopefully, it means everyone’s Berry farming will be a lot easier now.

You can download the update for free right now. All you need to do is boot up your Switch or Switch 2. If you try to play the game, you should get an automatic notification about the software update. Otherwise, you can use the main menu to go to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, press the + Button or – Button, and then choose to start the software update via the internet that way.

Adjustments Applied for Obtaining Items:

When purchasing Berries from a food stall, you can now purchase multiple Berries at once.
After beginning the story of the Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension DLC, you will be able purchase Berries from the clerk at Nouveau Café’s Truck No. 3.
The maximum number of Mega Shards you can carry has been increased from 999 to 9,999.

Fixes Applied for the Following Confirmed Issues Related to Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension Content:

When using moves in certain pockets of hyperspace, Pokémon may sometimes have faced a different direction from the intended target.
There were cases in which the weather remained sunny and did not change.
Shiny Pokémon obtained prior to the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension may not have been registered to the Mega Evolution Pokédex, even if their Mega Stones were obtained after becoming available in the DLC.
During missions, images from unrelated scenes may occasionally have been displayed.
Players may not have been able to complete side mission 188 “Start Special Scanning!” even after earning the maximum number of survey points. (Players who are already experiencing this issue should be able to progress after entering and exiting hyperspace.)

Again, nothing too major here, but some smaller fixes were needed. I never personally maxed out my Mega Shards, but it’s cool to see that expanded. Mostly, I’m just glad Pokémon Legends: Z-A has made it easier to get Berries when traversing through the DLC and endgame.
