Law enforcement tech firm LeadsOnline has outgrown its Plano headquarters after gobbling up three other firms in the last two years.

The company, which was founded in Plano in 2000, signed a deal to almost double its office space at Legacy Town Center II, at 6900 Dallas Parkway, according to a news release.

Savills’ Clay Vaughn and Jihane Boury brokered the deal.

LeadsOnline currently leases almost 15,000 square feet at the building and is expanding to occupy the full floor, increasing to 27,000 square feet. The 210,000-square-foot Legacy Town Center is owned by KBS and was built in 2002.

LeadsOnline acquired Hawk Analytics in 2022. CellHawk, its main product, increases police access to call detail records and location-based data. It bought Forensic Technology, which focuses on 3-D imagery and ballistic identification, from Ultra Electronics in 2023.

Last year, it acquired NightHawk.Cloud, which “leverages the power and potential of offenders’ current trends in digital data communication,” like phone records, Google accounts and social media data.

The company has been backed by private equity firm TA Associates since 2022. About 5,500 police departments across the country use LeadsOnline.

As prime office space in the city of Dallas gets scooped up, businesses are looking at DFW suburbs, like Plano.

For example, Simpson Strong-Tie Company, a California-based manufacturer of construction fasteners and connectors, signed a deal at Plano’s Granite Park 6, which was delivered in 2023 and is now 58 percent occupied. It’s leasing 38,000 square feet. Similarly, Sally Beauty is relocating from its longtime headquarters in Denton to a 140,000-square-foot spot at 7900 Windrose Avenue in Plano’s Legacy West.

Despite the strong activity, Dallas-Fort Worth’s office vacancy rate is high, at 27.7 percent, but industry experts are hopeful that number will start to decline as office buildings delivered in the last decade fill up.
