President of the CCE rules out having influence in the election to choose his successor

Francisco Cervantes Díaz, president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), stated that he has his hands off the election of the future leader of the top organization, which is in charge of defending and lobbying the interests of companies in Mexico, the United States and Canada.

“It has been said that I support a woman (to be president of the CCE), but I cannot get involved and the commission will be in charge of voting,” said the businessman within the framework of the VI Mexico-European Union Forum, organized by the Euro-American Foundation and the European Union.

“I no longer have a say in that part and he completely took his hands off the election,” declared the business leader, who finished his term in March 2025, but remains at the helm because the election of his successor was postponed.

For this election, the candidates were José Medina Mora, former president of Coparmex, and Juan Cortina Gallardo, former president of the CNA, who were in charge of vice presidencies created by the Business Coordinating Council.

“Whoever arrives will have all the support on my part,” said Cervantes Díaz, who added that the candidates to preside over the Business Coordinating Council are professionals.

On October 15, 2025, the Executive Commission of the Business Coordinating Council approved the stages and dates for holding its Ordinary Annual General Assembly 2025, an institutional framework to renew the presidency headed by Francisco Cervantes Díaz.

The presidents of the organizations associated with the CCE determined to strictly comply with the statutory precepts to guarantee the transparency, legality and certainty of the entire internal process of
choice.

Among the key stages and dates agreed upon, it stands out that the registration of candidates for the Presidency of the CCE will open on November 6 and will conclude on the 11th of the same month. Subsequently, the National Council will be informed about the list of registered candidates during its session on November 14.

In accordance with the statutes, an internal proselytizing period will open between November 14 and December 5, in which applicants will be able to present their proposals to the organizations that make up the CCE.

The Ordinary Annual General Assembly – space provided for the election and change of Presidency –
It will be held during the second week of December, in accordance with the provisions of the internal regulations of the Institution.
