Princeton University said Tuesday that Donald Trump’s government will suspend research scholarships from its program, thus becoming the fourth ‘Ivy League’ of the country whose federal financing is threatened.

The president of the institution, Christopher Eishgruber, sent an email to the students informing that several government agencies, including the Department of Energy, Defense and NASA, notified that several dozen research scholars will suspend.

Although the motivations of the Trump administration are not clear, Eishgruber pointed out in his statement that the university, located in New Jersey, “will comply with the law” and will combat both anti -Semitism and all forms of discrimination, which implied that it has to do with some type of projection protests, that the Trump administration systematically calls anti -Semitic.

“Princeton will also strongly defend academic freedom and the right to due process of this university. We have begun to contact teachers, academic researchers and managers of affected subsidies,” he said.

In response, on March 21, Columbia accepted a series of government requirements to maintain this money, including the hiring of 36 special security agents who will have the ability to expel students from the campus and even stop them.

Similarly, on Monday the government announced that it will review federal subsidies of 9,000 million dollars to Harvard University while investigating alleged acts of anti -Semitism that would have taken place during the students’ demonstrations in favor of Palestine.
