The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) called to review more than 5,000 BMW brand vehicles, which have the risk of the engine stopping working due to water penetration inside.
The agency specified in a statement that 5,048 vehicles of various BMW models have risks associated with the malfunction of the starter motor, as there is the possibility of water penetrating at certain points, which would cause corrosion inside the affected cars.
The affected models are the 220i Coupé, 320i, 330i, 520i, 530i, 530i Sedan, X3 sDrive20i, X3 xDrive30i, X4 xDrive30i,

This failure in the operation of the vehicles could lead to a short circuit and overheating, and in the most extreme case a fire even when parked, warned Profeco, which recommended parking outdoors and away from the vicinity of buildings.
As reported, the supplier in these defective models will replace the engine at no additional cost to affected people, who were urged to contact authorized distributors by telephone or email.
This alert was issued by the brand on November 18 and now Profeco is replicating it to guarantee that this call is answered.
