MEXICO CITY.- The Tax Administration Service (SAT) and the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) signed a collaboration agreement to promote digitalization and safety in the regulatory processes of the financial system with the use of the E.Firma.

The agreement seeks to incorporate the use of the electronic signature as an authentication mechanism within internal processes and in the interaction with financial entities and citizenship, in accordance with the General Administrator of Taxpayer Services of the SAT, Andrea Hernández Xoxotla, according to a statement.

“The first step will be the implementation of the E.Firma in the reception of the regulatory report R24 (G2470), a fundamental instrument for financial supervision. The incorporation of this mechanism will guarantee the safe transmission of the data, as well as the authenticity and integrity of the information sent by the regulated institutions,” he said.

He added that E. It is one of the most used digital tools in Mexico, with more than 55.1 million digital certificates issued at the end of June.

He stressed that in addition to its use in tax procedures, it is key in more than 500 government services, such as obtaining professional cards, electronic billing and data updating before the RFC.

    Hernández Xoxotla said that the agreement integrates the financial ecosystem within the framework of digital services of the SAT, consolidating a technological infrastructure with legal validity, focused on institutional efficiency and transparency.

    Francisco Joaquín Moreno y Rojas, vice president of administration and strategic planning of the CNBV, stressed that this agreement will allow the regulator to take advantage of the technological services of the SAT to validate advanced electronic firms and simplify procedures in the sector.
