The British band Pulp won on Friday placed in number one of the lists of albums of the United Kingdom, for the first time in 27 years, thanks to their latest work ‘More’, said Official Charts Company on their website.
The eighth studio album of the set led by Jarvis Cocker, and his first work after a 24 -year -old impasse allowed Sheffield’s rockers to recover the throne of British music, something they did not achieve since 1998 with ‘This is Harde’.
‘More’, released on June 6, debuted on the lists as the best -selling album in the United Kingdom in the last week, ahead of ‘Addison’, the homonymous album of the American singer Addison Rae, which debuted in second position and ‘Lotus’, of the English rapper Little Simz.
In addition, Pulp recorded with this album his sixth top 40 in the United Kingdom throughout his career, along with ‘His n´ Hers’ (1994), ‘Different Class’ (1995), the 1996 hits collection of 1996 ‘Countdown: 1992-1983’ and ‘We Love Life’, in 2001.

He also managed to be the best -selling album in vinyl, heading the official list in this category, according to Official Charts Company.
‘More’, with 11 songs and 50 minutes, only includes the collaboration of Canadian Chilly Gonzales in ‘Hymn of the North’, the theme that was the germ that originated this work in 2023, as Cocker explained in a statement published on the record page of the record.
“When we resume the tour in 2023, we rehearsed a new song called ‘Hymn of the North’ during the sound tests and finally we played at the end of our second night at the Sheffield Arena. This seemed to open the doors: we created the rest of the songs of this year during the first half of 2024 and a pair are re -stersons of ideas of the last century,” said the vocalist.
The album was recorded in November 2024 in London, with the production of James Ford and in just three weeks, being the shortest time it has taken to record a pulp album.
“We hope you enjoy music. It was composed of four people from northern England, with the help of five other people from various places in the British Isles. No AI was used during the process,” Cocker said in the note.

In this 2025 there are also 30 years of his album ‘Different Class’ (1995), which thanks, among other things, to the star song of the band by Antonomasia, ‘Common People’, catapulted them to fame and consecrated them as one of the most emblematic groups of the Britpop of the 90s.
