The Board of Governors of the Hollywood Academy announced Thursday that from the 100th edition of the Oscar, which in 2028 will reward the films released in 2027, they will recognize the work of the specialists responsible for folding the actors in the risk scenes.
“Since the beginning of the cinema, the work of the specialists has been an integral part of the film realization … we are proud to honor the innovative work of these technical and creative artists, and we congratulate them for their commitment and dedication,” Bill Kramer, executive director of the Academy, and Janet Yang, president of the film institution, said in a statement.
The requirements to be considered and chosen in that category for the inaugural award will be announced in 2027 together with the rules that will govern the 100 edition of the Oscar.

More than one hundred professionals from risk scenes are members of the Academy Production and Technology Branch, according to the institution.
Before the creation of this award, the last category created was the best casting direction, which was established in 2024 and will be delivered for the first time in the 98th edition of the Oscar, which will be held on March 15, 2026 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
