The SAT reported that it gave an extension to taxpayers and now they have until December 31, 2025 to enable the Tax Mailbox.
The collecting body recalled that failure to comply with this tax obligation after that period will be grounds for infringement.
In a statement, it added that since 2020, enabling the Tax Mailbox, registering and keeping the means of contact updated is a mandatory requirement for individuals and legal entities registered in the Federal Taxpayer Registry, with the exception of:
- Individuals and legal entities who are before the RFC with a canceled or suspended tax situation.
- Natural persons without tax obligations and without economic activity.
- Salaried and salaried taxpayers who have obtained income in the immediately preceding fiscal year of less than 400 thousand pesos.
He explained that the Tax Mailbox is a communication channel, whose purpose is to simplify the notification of administrative acts and the sending of messages of interest in an agile and secure manner.

To enable the tool it is necessary to enter the SAT Portal (sat.gob.mx), click on the Tax Mail button, access with RFC and a current password or e-signature.
Then you must choose the configuration option and fill out the contact media form, where you register an email and cell phone.
