The Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, announced the launch of the new Community Tourism distinctive, with which she will seek to promote areas of the country that have tourism and marketing infrastructure under certain guidelines.
The announcement was made within the framework of the XXXVI Meeting of Ambassadors and Consuls of Mexico, where the official gave a presentation.
Without specifying what the rules will be that the areas that aspire to obtain the Community Tourism badge must comply with, Rodríguez Zamora said that this designation will strengthen some polygons.

In the presence of the Chancellor Juan Ramón de la Fuente, the General Director of Tren Maya, Óscar David Lozano Águila, and the President of the Business Coordinating Council, Francisco Cervantes Díaz, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) recognized the efforts of the and ambassadors and consuls to strengthen the country’s tourism sector.
Likewise, Josefina Rodríguez highlighted the importance of making the Mayan Train known abroad, and looking for promotional spaces for the marketing of Mexican destinations.
The Secretary of Tourism also called on those present to increase resilience in the face of travel alerts.
The Community Tourism distinctive would be the first that Sectur activates in the current administration, and joins others such as Pueblo Mágico and Barrio Mágico.
