The federal Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) is preparing the opening of a network of Mexican craft stores that will operate nationally and internationally.
The head of the agency, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, made the announcement of the Punto México store project in a press conference held this Wednesday afternoon.
Punto México is a project of the secretariat consisting of the allocation of a physical space where artisans from different locations in Mexico can offer their products to the public for free.

Each state’s craft offering lasts a few weeks, and then the exhibit changes to be dedicated to the crafts of a new locality.
The only Punto México that currently exists is located on Mazaryk Avenue in Mexico City, where the federal Sectur facilities are also located.
In one month, that store achieved sales of 5 million pesos, the official shared with media representatives.
Ambassadors and consuls will help install more Mexico Points in other parts of the world, commented Rodríguez Zamora, referring to the stores that will be installed abroad.
