The Senate approved fast track, in general and in particular, the so-called constitutional supremacy in the midst of a session marked by chaos and amid accusations from the opposition that said reform is the beginning of the establishment of a dictatorship in Mexico by part of Morena.
With 85 votes in favor and 41 against, it was approved to shield the constitutional changes to make inadmissible the amparo trials, the unconstitutionality action and the constitutional controversy against modifications or additions to the Political Constitution.
PAN legislators took the stand with banners that said “No to the dictatorship in Mexico” and “Morena is the dictatorship of Mexico”; On the other hand, the guindas senators showed posters with the blue and white logos and the PRI with the phrase “The opposition morally defeated.”
The reform was approved after a long day with a triple session in the upper house, in record time, after on Tuesday senators and deputies from Morena presented the initiative that prevents the Supreme Court of Justice and the courts from reviewing the reforms to the Constitution , which is why it was approved this morning just two days after its presentation.
Thus, senators from Morena and allies raised to constitutional rank the inadmissibility of protection against changes to the Constitution to prevent constitutional reforms from being frozen due to controversies or unconstitutionality actions before the Judicial Branch of the Federation.
After approval, the minutes were sent to the Chamber of Deputies to continue the legislative process.
