President Claudia Sheinbaum made a call so that the second march against the gentrification that will take place this Sunday in Mexico City without violence, after the violent events recorded in the first.
“That there is no violence, in Mexico there is the right to the demonstration and free expression,” said the president in her morning conference.
Sheinbaum said that the head of government, Clara Brugada, will hold a dialogue with the dissatisfied to meet her requests before the constant complaints about an increase in housing prices in certain areas of the city.

Sheinbaum applauds gentrification strategy
Sheinbaum also recalled the plans presented by Brugada on Wednesday and assured that the dialogue table will be carried out once.
“It is a comprehensive program so that the displacement schemes are not generated, it is a very good job of the head of government and will help reduce the pressure that certain colonies of the city have,” said Sheinbaum.
The strategies include the proposal of a new law to regulate housing rental prices, as well as the creation of a master plan to combat this phenomenon in the most affected areas.
Also, it contemplates an Ombudsman for Tenants and the fight against real estate speculation in critical areas.
