President Claudia Sheinbaum began on Tuesday her participation in the G7 leaders of the Canada G7, marked by the Frustrated Meeting with US President Donald Trump, who left the appointment early before the war escalation in the Middle East.

The meeting planned with Trump was the first face to face among the leaders of the two neighboring countries and was framed within the growing bilateral tensions by the tariff war triggered by Washington, as well as the controversy by the raids to migrants and the proposal in the EU Congress to apply a 3.5% rate to the remittances sent from the country.

From Mexico City, the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, subtracted weight from the cancellation of the expected meeting between Trump and Sheinbaum.

“The meeting between both heads of state can take place at another time. It was not the only cancellation (which Donald Trump did), they were with several other meetings. It will be postponed for another date, we do not know what the president’s agenda is, but later it will occur,” Rodriguez said at the daily press conference.
