At the end of the meeting, Mexico’s ambassador to the United States, Esteban Moctezuma, told the media that Sheinbaum asked them to “work for the community abroad”, “make an effort for economic promotion” and “continue working in that intense dialogue that we have with the Government of the United States.”
For his part, Omar Fayad, Mexican ambassador to Norway, said that the meeting was marked by “what has happened in the case of Venezuela” and that Mexico will maintain a position “of respect for the law” and “of respect for international law.”
“It is not a position of confrontation, judgment or criticism, but of adhering to the provisions of international law,” he told the media.

Fayad added that Sheinbaum told them “how complex the relationship is” with Washington.
In parallel, the Foreign Ministry reported that Undersecretary Enrique Ochoa chaired a thematic session on Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights in which proposals were made to strengthen the UN in matters of peace and security, defense of international law and human rights.

Sheinbaum has rejected the United States military operation in Venezuela, insisting that “interventions have never brought democracy.”
