President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her solidarity and support with the Spanish people, particularly the community of Valencia that was affected by the Dana last week and has left at least 200 dead.
“To the Spanish people and, in particular, to Valencia and other places where they experienced this terrible tragedy, all our solidarity and the support they may need from Mexico,” said the president during her morning press conference.
The ruler pointed out that the Foreign Ministry was attentive from “the first moment” about the tragedy that occurred in Valencia and ruled out that it was a moment to talk about the differences that the Mexican government has with the Spanish Crown.
“I believe that our entire voice has to be in our feeling of solidarity with everyone, there are differences on some issues, but that does not mean that it is always our solidarity above all, it is time to show solidarity,” he emphasized.

On Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) indicated that it has not been reported that Mexicans have requested consular assistance or protection, nor the disappearance or death of Mexican men and women in Valencia.
Likewise, he noted that starting this Monday the collection of food and other supplies would begin to assist the affected population.
“Since the beginning of the natural disaster, the Government of Mexico has reiterated, on different occasions, its solidarity and condolences to the affected population and to the Spanish authorities, and has remained attentive to inform its citizens about any possible case. of assistance and protection that is required,” the Foreign Ministry stated.
The storms and floods of last week have already left more than 200 dead and thousands of homes affected, while almost 17,000 troops, including the military, civil guards and national police, are already deployed in the affected areas in the province of Valencia, in the east. from Spain.
