President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Monday the Armadora Olinia project, with which the plan for a 100% electric and Mexican car manufacturing plant was officially launched, which is expected to be launched on the market at the end of the six-year term that has just begun.

The planning of the new cars is in charge of the Secretariat of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation, as well as the National Polytechnic Institute and the National Technological Institute of Mexico, which have a total budget of 25 million pesos, in addition to salaries. of the researchers.

According to Roberto Capuano, head of Armadora Olinia, the initiative seeks to serve a majority segment of the Mexican population that has daily mobility of less than 30 kilometers.
