A frontal clash between a passenger bus and a truck caused the death of at least 14 people in Durango, local authorities reported Monday.
The bus had left McAllen, Texas, and was destined for the city of Durango. After the clash, the vehicles were incinerated, which hindered the rescue work of the relief agencies.

The Firefighters and the Civil Protection of the Municipality of Cuenca, who were the first to arrive at the scene, said that 14 people lost their lives while 10 more were transferred to different hospital centers in the region.
“I deeply regret the accident happened on the Cuenca road. My most sincere condolences to those who have lost a loved one. We are in contact with the affected families and provide all the necessary support in this difficult moment, ”said Durango Governor Esteban Villegas, in a message on social networks.
This is the second vehicular tragedy in Mexico on the day, since this morning the accident of a bus that overturned on an Oaxaca road was reported in the south of the country, and that leaves a balance of 11 people deceased and 30 more wounded.
