Other shopping centers such as Plaza del Caribe, in the southern city of Ponce, and Plaza Carolina also reported that they will close for the rest of the day.

Meanwhile, the authorities had to evict dozens of urban train users, in the metropolitan area, after they were stranded during the tour.

The integrated transport authority explained in their social networks that they had initiated the eviction of the units under strict measures and that activated buses to bring users to their final destination.

The blackout also caused chaos in the streets, where the police had to deploy at the main crosses to control traffic because traffic lights do not work.

Restaurants and coffee shops overflowed from citizens due to the lack of light in houses, except in those that have electric generators or solar panels.

Castro said that two medical institutions reported partial failures in one of their generators, but the technical teams responded quickly and the situation was controlled.

Luma Energy and gene electrical companies reported that all generatric units came out of service and investigated the cause of the blackout.
