It may have been well over a decade since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was first released, but with the CD Projekt RED RPG being considered one of the best games of all time, it is no wonder that fans are still returning to it to this day, especially with brand-new content such as this.
With The Witcher 4 now in development and expected to launch in the next few years, fans are eager for more content set in the monster-slaying world and so, in the meantime, Song of Wind can provide just that and better yet, it is completely free.
The Witcher 3: Song Of Wind Is A Fun Fan Expansion
Uploaded to Nexus Mods just last year, Song of Wind is a free expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which introduces a brand-new adventure for Geralt of Rivia as he embarks on a quest to find a mysterious island. With two new quests, new dialogue, and even new gameplay mechanics, this mod was created using CD Projekt Red’s REDkit as part of a modding contest and now, it should be a part of your Witcher experience.
After hearing about the mysterious Whispering Island but discovering that it is a place that nobody seems to know anything about, Geralt does the only logical thing and sets off on a quest to find it. It is here that players will be able to complete two brand-new quests complete with new dialogue (created without the use of AI. Hurrah) from Geralt and the NPCs he meets along the way. Additionally, although the modder reveals that there is a new gameplay mechanic, they wish for players to find it out by themselves.
This Mini Expansion Has Multiple New Quests
To begin your new adventure, you only need to head to Novigrad port and interact with the messenger waiting for you. However, the modder has shared a disclaimer that the Song of Wind expansion is considered late-game content and should only be approached when you are level 50 or higher. If not, enter at your own peril.
As mentioned, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is already considered a masterpiece in the RPG genre, but surely you can improve on a masterpiece by adding even more quests to enjoy. Luckily, Song of Wind does just that and all it takes is to own the base game on PC and download this free mod.
