Spending on education continues to be insufficient, since only less than half of the money is allocated from the recommendations of international organizations, considered José Medina Mora Icaza, president of the Pedestrian Confederation of the Republic (Coparmex).
“In Mexico, spending on education continues to be insufficient, since only 3.2 percent of the gross domestic product is allocated to this area,” commented the business leader.
According to the representative of the employers’ union, international recommendations indicate that between 4 percent and 6 percent or up to 8 percent of the gross domestic product should be allocated to education.
“This deficit in investment limits the capacity of the educational system to respond to the needs of students and increases the risk of social exclusion and backwardness,” declared the businessman.
For the leader, education must be a priority and a determined commitment is necessary to increase the budget and guarantee that all children and young people have access to quality education.
“We are guided by the ideal of a country where every child, every young person, and every adult has access to an education that allows them to grow, develop their talents and contribute to the common good. We know that only by working together, in collaboration with all sectors “We will achieve a Mexico where each person has the opportunities they deserve,” said José Medina Mora Icaza.
With everyone’s efforts, he noted, we can build an educational system that not only responds to the needs of the present, but also prepares our children and young people for the challenges of the future.
“Education, we are convinced, is the axis that defines the progress of a nation, the engine that enhances our capabilities and the foundation on which all of this Mexico that we desire is built, he concluded.
