A spokesman for former US president Joe Biden said today that the president did not know having prostate cancer while occupying the oval office, after President Donald Trump slid yesterday speculation about this possibility.
Biden, 82 and whose state of health has been in the fore of the last electoral campaign, was diagnosed last Friday with prostate cancer in a very advanced state, with bone metastases, and currently evaluates different treatment options, according to his office on Sunday afternoon.
“The last known PSA (specific prostate antigen) of President Biden was in 2014. Before Friday, prostate cancer had never been diagnosed,” said a spokesman for Biden to Fox News.
The PSA test – a protein produced by both cancerous and non -cancerous fabric of the prostate – is made with a blood test that is mainly used to detect this type of cancers.

However, many other conditions, such as enlargement or inflammation of the prostate, can also increase PSA levels, according to authorized medical institutions, which makes it difficult to analyze the results.
The diagnosis of biden prostate cancer has raised several questions about why it was not detected before, despite having undergone several medical exams.
Trump questioned yesterday that the population of the aggressive prostate cancer suffering from his predecessor and pointed out that “someone is not telling the facts.”
“Why has it taken so long? It can take years to reach that level of danger. It is a very, very sad situation. I feel very bad about it and I think people should try to find out what happened,” he said in an act in the White House.
The Republican leader related the current situation to previous medical reports that declared the cognitively suitable Democrat for the position, something he calls into question.
Trump said the Walter Reed hospital, a usual place of the annual checks to the president, “is really good.”

In his opinion, there are things that are not being told to the population. “I think someone will have to talk to your doctor if it is the same or even if they are different doctors. (…) This is no longer politically correct. It is a danger to our country,” he concluded.
