Starfield appears to finally be coming to PlayStation 5 after years of speculation. Bethesda itself hasn’t made any official promises, but one of the industry’s more reliable leakers has weighed in claiming to know when Starfield‘s PS5 port will release. The sci-fi RPG has a mixed reputation, but Bethesda’s sandbox experiences are marquee releases regardless.
Reputable leaker Billbil-kun claims via French publication Dealabs that Starfield will release for PlayStation 5 on April 7, 2026. Unconfirmed leaks should always come with the requisite skepticism, but Billbil-kun has a stellar track record regarding PlayStation releases specifically. According to Billbil-kun and Dealabs, pre-orders for Starfield on PS5 will go live on either March 17 or March 18, 2026, meaning its official announcement could happen in the next couple of weeks.
Starfield’s PlayStation 5 Release Date Has Leaked
If the April 7 release date for Starfield on PS5 turns out to be true, the short run-up to launch won’t be surprising. Starfield came out in late 2023, so it’s largely a known quantity and doesn’t need an exceptional amount of promotion, but Bethesda has grown fond of surprise releases. The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered was shadow-dropped at its announcement, and studio head Todd Howard has reiterated that Bethesda prefers this strategy—perhaps because of the flak it still receives for revealing The Elder Scrolls 6 eight years ago.
With a supposed pre-order date leaked, it would appear Starfield‘s PS5 release will have at least a couple of weeks’ notice. What’s more, this delayed release appears to come with a slightly reduced launch price. Dealabs claims the standard edition of Starfield will cost £44.99/€49.99 (roughly $60) on PS5, with the premium edition going for £59.99/€69.99 (about $80). Starfield‘s standard and premium editions originally cost $70 and $100, respectively.
This PlayStation Leaker Has A 100% Track Record
Don’t take Starfield‘s leaked PS5 release date as a certainty, but it’s quite likely given the source. Billbil-kun routinely reveals the monthly PlayStation Plus games before they’re announced by Sony. As far as we’ve been aware of Billbil-kun’s prolific predictions, they haven’t been wrong. Sometimes they don’t have the full PS Plus lineup, but they haven’t exactly been inaccurate.
April 7 seems very likely to be when Starfield will finally arrive on PlayStation. Rumors have been circulating recently about a supposed 2.0 update, which would be the perfect time to release a port if it makes major changes. Some in the know have suggested that fans will want to keep their expectations in check; Starfield‘s big update is said to be less transformative than Cyberpunk 2077‘s 2.0 overhaul. Regardless, Starfield apparently coming to PS5 in April is a big deal, and it will open up the Settled Systems to a whole new set of players that have been waiting for over two years.
