Steam’s New Free Hidden Gem Is So Good Players Can’t Believe It Costs Nothing

There are already loads of great games to play so far in 2026, but one new Steam game doing the rounds is getting a lot of praise from gamers. Oh, it also happens to be completely free to download and keep forever, which is a nice bonus — but by no means the game’s only selling point.

Given the huge amount of free games available on Steam, it can be tricky to know which titles are worth your time and which are best avoided. After all, just because a game is free, that doesn’t mean it automatically deserves your attention, right?

Delivery & Beyond Is A Free Steam Hidden Gem

Delivery & Beyond is a brand-new hidden gem you can play completely free. Developed entirely by a solo dev known as FailCake, this strange retro crime game released on Steam on January 27 and has already earned a heap of very positive reviews. At the time of writing, 89 percent of the 198 reviews are positive, which is an incredible achievement for any game, let alone one made by a single developer.

Here’s the game’s official (and not very helpful) synopsis on Steam:

Congratulations, employee! You just joined &Beyond, the only delivery company bold enough to leave the job description blank. You wanted benefits? You got ’em. You wanted details? Too bad. Now grab your next delivery contract and get to work! Bridges? Too slow. Ladders? For cowards. With PhysTech’s Prop Surfing System, every random piece of junk becomes a high-speed launch vehicle. File cabinets, barrels, office chairs… If you can stand on it, you can surf it straight across the abyss.

Gamers Are Loving This Freebie

We can see why

It’s hard not to see why everyone is loving Delivery & Beyond so much. This is a very silly game drenched in old-school charm, and has a surprising amount of replay value for something that doesn’t actually cost any money.

“This game is amazing,” reads on user review. “I’m so glad I randomly found it on Steam. You can tell this is a passion project, there’s a lot of love poured into it, from item, to random memes, to music, to graphics. Also who doesn’t love hyenas.”

Another adds: “Really fun game and it’s free! Amazing job to be made by a solo dev, if you like REPO and Lethal Company you’ll like it too.”

So, that seems pretty conclusive, right? If you’re looking for your next free fix on Steam, this is clearly the game for you.
