Stock markets in Mexico close with losses of more than 1% • Forbes México

The stock markets in Mexico closed the day this Thursday with losses of more than 1%, according to information from each market and the investing.com platform.

The Price and Quotations Index (IPC) of the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) fell 1.27% to 49,332.12 points.

Within the leading index, three stations were the biggest winners. Walmart de México gained 1.53% and its share stood at 58.30 pesos. In second place was Grupo Industrial Saltillo, with an increase of 1.19% to 17 pesos per share and in third place was Grupo Comercial Chedraui, with an increase of 2.03% to 148.49 pesos per share.

The three biggest losers in the IPC were Génova Lab, with a drop of 3.88% to 25.51 pesos per unit; Regional, with a loss of 3.76% at a price per paper of 118.14 pesos, and Orbia Advance, with a contraction of 6.38% to 15.41 pesos in whole.

The BMV has lost about 13.39% if the closing of this Thursday is compared to that of December 19 of last year.

The fall of the BMV occurred after Banxico cut its reference interest rate by 25 basis points to leave it at 10%, and also revised upwards its quarterly inflation projections.

On the other hand, the Institutional Stock Exchange (BIVA) fell 1.47% to 1,000.16 points and in annual terms it has lost 14.67%.
