Karina Lerma, president of the Mexican Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that Swiss companies will continue to have bridges with Mexico to move towards universal health coverage established in the 2030 Agenda.

“Mexico is the main commercial partner of Switzerland in Latin America and about 48% of imports from the European country correspond to pharmaceutical and chemical products,” said the businesswoman.

He added that the Swiss pharmaceutical industry and chemistry is recognized worldwide for its leadership in innovation.

He indicated that for five years the private agency has brought together more than 60 Swiss companies, which generate 50 thousand direct jobs in Mexico.

He said that in Mexico a public health program develops in collaboration with the company Roche, through which Swiss universities experts offer their knowledge to representatives of the public and private sectors in the country.

In this way, technology, innovation, products and inputs for health are offered to Mexico, but also knowledge and principles of solidarity, quality and access, he said.

To do this, the Swiss Chamber has a health and innovation committee that acts as a collaboration platform between companies, authorities and academics.

By participating in the forum “The future of health in Mexico and the world, good practices and some reflections to achieve universal health,” Swiss Cham president said Swiss companies are ready to collaborate with long -term vision in the country.
