The pop superstar Taylor Swift said Friday that he had bought the “masters” of his first six albums, which gives him control of his entire music after a dispute with his old record label.
Swift’s “masters” had been sold in 2019 and the singer said he was not given the opportunity to buy them at that time. He re -recorded four of the albums with the subtitle “Taylor’s version”.
On Friday, Swift said he had bought the original recordings from the current Shamrock Capital owner. The financial terms were not revealed.
“I’ve been breaking joy at random intervals since I learned that this is really happening,” he said in a statement on his website. “I can really say these words: all the music I have made (…) now it belongs to me.”
