The most recent Taylor Swift album, ‘The Life of A Showgirl’, sold 2.7 million copies on the first day of its launch in the US, as reported by the Lumineate data monitoring company, according to Billboard.
This milestone marks the most successful launch week in Swift’s career and the second most successful in history. The first place is maintained by Adele, who in 2015 sold 3.4 million copies in her first week, a brand that the American singer could still exceed in the next five days.
‘The Life of A Showgirl’ also established a vinyl sales record in a single week, with 1.2 million copies sold since its launch.
Swift had already achieved that brand last year with ‘The tortured poets department’ in its first seven days, when it sold 859,000 copies, according to the same data analysis company.
In addition, Spotify announced that the album also became the most reproduced in a single day on its streaming platform so far from 2025.

Spotify had confirmed at the beginning of last week that the twelfth record work of the singer had already beaten the record of the platform for a greater number of pre-guards for an album, exceeding five million.
The album was accompanied by a film announced as a release party of the album, in which Swift shredded its inspirations for the project.
In its premiere in cinemas he raised $ 15.8 million on his first day, and this Monday, the website specialized in box office revenue explained that the film has reached 46 million dollars worldwide.
With ‘The Life of A Showgirl’, Swift moved away from the melancholic introspection of ‘The tortured poets department’ (2024) and the dark and reflective sounds that had marked their latest productions and instead retakes the most classic pop bases that marked their early stages, a little thanks to the return of the producers Max Martin and Shellback, with whom he worked on topics as ‘Blank Space’ or ‘Shake It off’.
