Technological development must have a specific purpose and should not be created for the sake of creating, said Fabio Oliveira, General Manager and VP of Lenovo Mexico during the Forbes Economy and Business Forum 2024, Smart and Sustainable Future.
“Technology must always have a purpose; Technological development helps reduce costs or operations but it must go beyond that,” he explained.

The specialist added that part of the tasks of technology developers is to create more “inclusive” tools and that joint work between development companies can catapult technological inclusion.
“You can create a very interesting ecosystem for solving problems,” said Oliveira.
He added that the Covid-19 pandemic was a turning point for many industries since it increased their technological adoption globally to be able to solve processes and challenges they faced during the health crisis.
The companies would have increased technological demand both in the renewal of computers or for the creation of data centers, he noted.
